Tzofim Garin Tzabar assists young Jewish adults who make aliyah and wish to make Israel their home and serve a meaningful service in the IDF as Lone Soldiers.

The program that provides a 360° support system and framework for those who wish to join the IDF as Lone Soldiers before moving to Israel, before joining the army, during and after their army service including: full board accommodation, assistance with Israel civil services and IDF bureaucracy, integration to Israeli society, building a family within a host community in Israel and crafting a new garin family – a family for life.

Join in the upcoming Shabbat of Love — the largest Shabbat dinner celebration in North American history — to celebrate Jewish light and love with friends, family and neighbors. Organized by the Jewish Federations of North America with support from the Jim Joseph Foundation and partners across the Jewish community, this unprecedented Shabbat of solidarity will unify Jews of all ages to experience the sacred joy of the Sabbath.

The Shabbat of Love website gives participants a choice to attend or host a dinner and offers a downloadable Dinner Guide with information on Shabbat rituals and even suggested discussion topics. The site also contains prompts for Acts of Love — “how to spread love the Jewish way” — such as volunteering in your community and writing a letter of support to Jewish students on campus.

Miami’s Jewish Community Is Helping Hard-Hit Israelis Through Interest-Free Loans

Israelis who are suffering financially as a result of the way by the war can receive critically needed assistance through a unique partnership involving creative philanthropy, the Greater Miami Jewish Federation Hebrew Free Loan Association of Miami (HFLA), the International Association of Jewish Free Loans (IAJFL) and Ogen — Israel’s largest free loan association — who will provide a total of more than $3.4 million, including an investment of over $500,000 from Miami, in interest-free loans.

Loans will support Israelis who:

  • Lost their possessions or their homes in the terrorist attacks

  • Lost their sources of income due to the attacks or the subsequent impacts of war

  • Are living in conflict zones
