Sunday, May 12, 12:50 pm on Facebook Livestream
While Yom Ha'Zikaron is always a challenging day for Israel and the global Jewish community, this year holds even greater significance. The massacre on October 7 and the ongoing war have left our nation grieving and in shock. The theme for this year's ceremony is We Are One, reflecting our shared sense of loss and the resilience to rebuild while holding onto hope.
Join hundreds of thousands of others around the globe to honor Israel's Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terrorism. It's a time for Jewish communities worldwide to come together in remembrance and grief for those who are no longer with us. In their passing, they inspire us to embrace life and uphold their legacies.
Yodeah's Addition to Your Seder Plate: Knowledge and Power
Posted by Lauren Gold on 04/10/2024 @ 12:09 PM
This Passover, Federation beneficiary Yodeah is encouraging everyone to add a test tube to their Seder plate to celebrate the scientific advances that help free us from the plagues of our time. Working to educate the Jewish community about hereditary genetic cancer mutations, such as those found with the BRCA gene, Yodeah’s suggestion of including a test tube reminds us that a simple saliva test is all that’s needed to learn if someone is BRCA-positive. The test tube also represents the power of knowledge, which enables people to take action based on facts.
