Lech Lecha

Oct. 28 – AJSE 24th Lech Lecha Service; 10am – Noon; at Temple Beth Tov Ahavat Shalom, 6438 SW 8th St. West Miami 33144.

Originally, under the sponsorship of the Association for Jewish Special Education, this Service was celebrated in 1993 at Temple Zion-Israelite Center, when four adults with special needs were honored with a Bar Mitzvah service.

And, each year thereafter, the Lech Lecha Service has been an event that adults with special needs would attend; and, depending on their religious identification, would take part. The AJSE is sponsoring the Kiddush, following the Shabbat morning Service.

Rabbi Manuel Armon and Cantor "Babe" Resnick will officiate.

The AJSE is a private, non-profit corporation. Our mission is to foster the cultural identity of Jewish adults with developmental disabilities, with the framework of nurturing mutual understanding and respect among the various ethnic and religious groups of the Greater Miami community.

To actualize this mission, the AJSE organizes and sponsors Judaica classes, holiday celebrations and life cycle events to which adults with developmental disabilities of all ethnic and religious groups are invited, welcomed and urged to attend.
