Macken Companies is thrilled to announce the vertically integrated development, construction and brokerage firm with affiliate entities, VCM Builders and Macken Realty, has partnered with Jewish Community Services (JCS) of South Florida to provide free meals to those in need. The first food drive took place Thursday, May 28th and served over 100 families. JCS will continue to operate drive-thru meal delivery out of Macken Companies’ retail center located at 17035 West Dixie Highway in North Miami Beach every other Thursday for the next month with future dates to be confirmed. Those interested can register through their local school, synagogue or church.
"We applaud the staff and volunteers at JCS for their hard work and dedication to serving families in need during this critical time,” stated Alan S. Macken, CEO. “Our firm was searching for a tangible way to help others in our community and have gladly donated one for our retail bays and alleyway to ensure JCS has the necessary space to operate their food drive efficiently through the upcoming weeks. We thank the City of North Miami Beach their support, and in particular, Mayor Anthony DeFillipo, City Manager Esmond Scott, and the police department, all of whom have helped to make this a seamless endeavor.”

Due to the elevated implications of COVID-19, JCS is also working with Joshua’s Heart Foundation and UnitedWay to address the local needs in North Miami Beach and its neighboring communities during this time.
“We are grateful for the boundless community support on behalf of hundreds of families we serve," said Miriam Singer, JCS President & CEO. "We thank Alan Macken, Mayor Anthony DeFillipo and the City of North Miami Beach, as well as our dedicated corps of volunteers from the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, UnitedWay and JCS for their incredible dedication to helping members of our community facing food insecurity. The JCS Kosher Food Bank team has made it possible for this event to come to fruition," Singer said.
