Tzedakah, or ma’aser, both acts of charitable giving are important Jewish values that have shaped how we care for our community. There are certain actions that qualify as tzedakah or ma’aser, while other actions do not. In this session, Rabbi Ezra Levy will teach us about the different forms of Jewish philanthropy and when are we obligated to give to organizations like the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. Ariel Bentata, Immediate Past Chair of the Board of the Federation wiil share his philanthropic journey with us and together with Jeff Levin, Executive Vice President, they will teach us how Federation can be a partner in helping you achieve your Jewish philanthropic goals and give you the tools to encourage others to support the mission of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.
