Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach Events During Women’s History Month

Throughout March, Women’s History Month, the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach is presenting a series of virtual programs about women during the Shoah, beginning with an event on Wednesday, March 8 at 7 p.m. Dr. Michael Berenbaum, world-renowned historian, Director of the Sigi Ziering Institute and Professor of Jewish Studies at American Jewish University, will discuss the topic “When Families Disappeared: Camp Schvesters (Sisters)” via the Zoom program. Whether or not they lost families during the Holocaust, many Jewish women and girls formed “families” with other women. These sisterhoods were particularly important inside concentration camps, where the bonds formed between women often helped them survive constant danger. To register for the program and receive a Zoom link, click here. Other virtual programs will take place on March 20 and March 27. Look for more information in the weeks to come. The Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach is a Committee of Federation.
