JWorks Provides Help for Job Seekers

Behind the headlines of economic insecurity are real people … a woman who lost her job due to the pandemic, a new immigrant with a family in need of job counseling and a job seeker who wanted to fulfill her passion working with children while earning a living wage. These are just a few of the examples of people whom JWorks Miami, a community employment program, has helped in the last year. Created in 2010, JWorks is a collaboration between Federation and our primary human services partner Jewish Community Services of South Florida. The program provides free career coaching, resume guidance, networking opportunities, resources and more to prospective employees and helps pair qualified candidates with employers. Employers rely on JWorks, too. In the past year, more than 200 positions have been posted on the job board, marking a 40% increase over 2020. On Thursday, January 20, JWorks will offer a Zoom Interviewing Skills Workshop. Click here to register for the free event. For more information, click here.
