Share the Joy of Hanukkah With School Children Through PJ Library’s Story Squad

PJ Library Story Squad is seeking volunteer readers to help bring Chanukah to Miami-Dade elementary school students. Share the joy of the Festival of Lights with children in their classrooms through story time and Chanukah traditions such as lighting the menorah, playing dreidel with Chanukah gelt (chocolate “money”) and eating sufganiyot (jelly donuts). Parents and grandparents are encouraged to volunteer at their child’s school; public and private secular schools are eligible. The Miami chapter of PJ Library, a Federation program funded by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation and the Blank Family Foundation, provides free Jewish books to thousands of children throughout Miami-Dade County to promote a love of reading while exploring Jewish values and traditions. PJ Library Story Squad participants will be provided with all necessary materials as well as virtual training on Wednesday, November 15 and Thursday, November 16. Click here to register for training by Monday, November 13.
