Agencies, Day Schools, Synagogues

Many Jewish institutions – including social-service agencies, day schools and synagogues – play important roles in Miami-Dade County. Their vital programs help those in need, provide Jewish learning opportunities and offer many options to stay involved in Jewish life.

In addition to serving as a critical source of funding for its beneficiary agencies, the Greater Miami Jewish Federation is committed to sustaining and enhancing their services for generations to come. That’s where our Agencies, Day Schools and Synagogues (ADS) Department comes in.

Every day, ADS works with professionals and volunteer leadership at local synagogues and Federation beneficiary agencies, including Jewish day schools, Jewish community centers, Jewish community services and more. The purpose? To build stronger relationships between their organizations and Federation.

ADS works to educate, inform and ultimately expand the community’s support of Federation’s grassroots efforts on behalf of the Jewish people worldwide. Through the ADS network of liaisons and representations, Federation is able to strengthen these partnerships and allow for a better understanding of the community’s needs and how they can be best served. And as the broader community gains a better understanding of Federation and our Mission, its support of the Annual Campaign grows – ultimately providing more allocatable dollars for the agencies that need them most. It’s a win for everyone involved.

ADS programs enable Federation to enrich the community in ways you may not realize. Several of these programs are directed primarily at educating our children about the meaning of a caring community. These include the community-wide Tzedakah Box Project, Read-a-Thon, and High Holiday Card Design Contest. Other ADS programs include “Shabbat Across Miami,” phonathons at day schools and synagogues and the Super Sunday Incentive Program.

The ADS team is always looking for volunteers to strengthen our community partnerships. If you are interested in being a liaison to Federation from your organization, please contact us at [email protected] or 786.866.8410.
