Help Rebuild Gaza Border Communities, March 23-30

Program photo

Join a Federation Israel Solidarity Mission Miami cohort, ages 21+, and volunteer alongside professional builders to help revitalize Israel’s war-torn south. The Mission is facilitated by the nonprofit Livnit U’Lehibanot (To Build and Be Built), which, since October 7, has completed over 250 restoration projects throughout communities and army bases on the Gaza border. The program offers speakers and classes as well as meetups with IDF soldiers and locals as the group tours the Gaza Envelope and visits the Nova music festival memorial site and Miami’s partner city of Yerucham. The cost is subsidized for individuals ages 21-40.

Tragic Awakening Film Screening, Q&A and Book Signing

January 29 at 7pm at the David Posnack JCC

A special screening of the documentary Tragic Awakening, which delves into how the events of October 7th have heightened our awareness of critical truths about antisemitism. It’s a compelling exploration of the challenges we face, balanced with a message of resilience and hope.

The evening will feature live appearances by producer Raphael Shore, an internationally acclaimed filmmaker and activist, and Rawan Osman, a pioneering voice in Middle Eastern peace advocacy. Following the screening, there will be a Q&A session with both speakers, offering attendees a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue about combating antisemitism and building bridges for the future.

Rawan’s work is increasingly becoming a powerful bridge to the non-Jewish world, and this event presents a wonderful opportunity to connect with her and learn from her experiences firsthand.
