Event banner

When absent-minded widow Tami accidentally hits 70-year-old widower Beno with her car, the last thing on her mind is love and romance. Trying to ensure Beno will not sue her, she invites him over to her apartment. Against her wishes, and although she finds it hard to move on following her husband’s death, Tami starts falling for Beno, who is head over heels in love with her. But will their budding relationship survive the scrutiny of their children? Israeli Oscar-winner Shlomo Bar-Aba (MJFF 2016 film Hill Start) gives a heartwarming performance as Tami’s late husband, who refuses to let her go in this charming romantic comedy for the young and young at heart.

The Israeli Film Series is presented in partnership with The Miami Jewish Film Festival.

OMG I'm Getting Older and So Is My Mom

Through anecdotes and humor, Scott Greenberg presents us with the moments when everyone has to make tough decisions. When the tables are turned and children become parents, children become the adults in the room. Scott shows us with his characteristic humor how shared decisions are possible at a moment's notice.

The later-years road is often believed to look like midnight rides on a sailboat with a glass of wine in our hand. All too often, Scott has learned, reality gets in the way.

The event is based on Scott Greenberg's professional experience as an attorney in senior management positions in aid organizations and today, among other things, hosts a radio show and manages a company to assist the elderly population and their families.

Scott lectures on a serious topic from a humorous perspective and presents the passage of time and the changing roles of parents and children with many entertaining anecdotes combined with practical advice. Scott encourages us all to look at where we are today and where we will be in the not-so-distant future, in order to avoid making decisions in a crisis when you are most vulnerable.
