Operation Moses was the covert rescue of more than 10,000 Beta Israel – the Ethiopian Jews – from the 1984 famine and civil war. This event will feature a panel discussion with individuals who were part of or witnessed Operation Moses and have written about the historic mission and the Ethiopian Jewish community, as well as an exhibition of artifacts and photographs that bring this historic operation to life. Two of our panelists have their work featured in the exhibition.

Students entering their sophomore and junior years of high school are invited to apply for the Stephen Muss Impact Fellowship, a program that offers $15,000 scholarships to Alexander Muss High School in Israel (AMHSI).

The meaningful experience, taking place August 26-December 23, 2024, offers Jewish students living in Miami-Dade County the chance to spend a semester living and learning in Israel, made possible by Stephen Muss and the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. AMHSI is the only pluralistic, college prep, fully accredited program in which high school students’ study abroad together in Israel for a semester.
