The Foundation of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation wants to help fund your education! If you're a Jewish undergraduate or graduate student in need of financial assistance, you may qualify for the Sylvia Tuman Scholarship Program.
Application Deadline: Saturday, May 31
Eligibility: Must be enrolled or accepted in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program at a college or university in Miami-Dade or Broward counties.
Last year, 20 students received tuition assistance through this program. Since its launch in 2016, more than $200,000 has been awarded to help students like you achieve their academic goals!

An evening of courage and inspiration with 100 year-old Jack Waksal, survivor of four camps & two daring escapes from the clutches of the Nazis.

The event will feature a memorial for the Bibas family, with a tribute delivered by a local family member.
Jack Waksal was born in Poland in 1924. At age 15, the Nazis invaded his hometown and forced his family into the ghettos and labor camps. He narrowly escaped death six times, including a daring escape when ordered by the Nazis to kneel by a mass grave. He was recaptured and sent to four different camps. After being recaptured and sent to four different camps, he made a final escape in September 1944, hiding in a forest until his liberation in January 1945.
Be sure not to miss this incredible evening and opportunity to hear testimony from one of the last few remaining holocaust survivors who can share their story.

Today, Jewish Federations mourn and pray for the families of Itzik Elgarat, Tsahi Idan, Shlomo Mantzur and Ohad Yahalomi, all taken hostage from their safe rooms and homes in a horrifying manner by Hamas terrorists on October 7.
The last several weeks have been tragic in many ways, yet we remain amazed and proud of the resilience of the Israeli people as they stand strong during these times of grief. Jewish Federations stand in solidarity and pray with them during these times of mourning.
