Federation to Host Another Free Kosher Food Distribution Drive-Thru September 23
Posted by Noa Waks Rudman on 09/07/2022 @ 01:37 PM
Thousands of community members experiencing food insecurity as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic have been relying on Federation’s Free Kosher Food Distribution Drive-Thrus to help them fill their fridge and pantry. On Friday, September 23, from 9 to 11 a.m., packages of kosher meat, fresh produce, milk, eggs, challah, dry goods and other supplies will be placed in the trunks of waiting cars at Federation’s next drive-thru event at Federation Headquarters, 4200 Biscayne Boulevard. Partners in the food drive include Federation’s Jewish Volunteer Center (JVC), our primary human service agency Jewish Community Services of South Florida, Repair the World Miami, Farm Share and Miami-Dade County. We are also grateful to a number of generous donors for their support, whose loyalty allows us to continue our work. Cars will enter the parking lot via the northbound lane of Federal Highway. Participants must remain in their cars and wear masks. All CDC COVID-19 safety guidelines will be followed.

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation and the Rabbinical Association of Greater Miami, together with more than 30 participating synagogues, are offering free seating to unaffiliated members of our community through the High Holiday Welcome Program. If you have not already made plans to attend Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services, we encourage you to join a synagogue. But if you can’t do so in time for the holidays, you may attend services at one of the synagogues where we have arranged for a limited number of individual seats at no charge. The program is made possible by donations to the Annual Greater Miami Jewish Federation/UJA Campaign. Online registrations may be made here through Sunday, September 18.
All denominations of observance are welcome. Advance reservations are required. May 5783 be a sweet year for you and your family, full of peace and happiness.
