JCAT Youth presents "Neil Simon's The Good Doctor"
Posted by Steven Kaiser on 03/04/2019 @ 09:52 PM
March 26- April 7
Directed by Michael Andron
Neil Simon’s homage to Russian playwright, Anton Chekhov, who claimed all Chekhov’s plays were comedies! This crowd-pleasing play is sometimes farcical, sometimes comical, sometimes poignant… the humor infectious, and the fun never ending.
"A great deal of warmth and humor in his retelling of these Chekhovian tales." - Newhouse Newspapers
"There is much fun here. Mr. Simon's comic fancy is admirable." - The New York Times

Afternoon Tea With A Twist featuring Isaac Mizrahi
Posted by Brooke Kahn on 02/28/2019 @ 02:50 PM
Join Isaac Mizrahi in conversation with Jackie Nespral, WTVJ News Anchor discussing his book, I.M.: A Memoir on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 2pm Afterwards enjoy afternoon tea and refreshments. Located at The Alper JCC in the Robert Russell Theater 11155 SW 112 Avenue, Miami • Bldg. 4
Isaac Mizrahi is a pop culture icon unlike any fashion designer of recent memory, a cabaret singer and a talk show host on QVC. He offers a candid look back on his life so far – growing up gay in a sheltered Syrian Jewish Orthodox family. His memoir is filled with poignant stories from his teenage years at the famed LaGuardia High School for Performing Arts, to a budding fashion designer working with such luminaries as Perry Ellis and Calvin Klein, to branching out on his own and being anointed the wunderkind of the international fashion world. His talents drew him into the who’s who of celebrity circles with Richard Avedon, Audrey Hepburn, Anna Wintour, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Meryl Streep, Oprah Winfrey, to name only a few. This is pure Isaac Mizrahi, as only he can tell it.
