His memoir is filled with poignant stories from his teenage years at the famed LaGuardia High School for Performing Arts, to a budding fashion designer working with such luminaries as Perry Ellis and Calvin Klein, to branching out on his own and being anointed the wunderkind of the international fashion world. His talents drew him into the who’s who of celebrity circles with Richard Avedon, Audrey Hepburn, Anna Wintour, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Meryl Streep, Oprah Winfrey, to name only a few. The Holocaust Impact Theater (HIT), now in its fifteenth year, is a unique theater project that engages local high school students to write, produce, direct and perform their original script. This year's production of "Glimpse" will be performed on March 14, 15 & 16 at 7pm at the Alper JCC's Robert Russell Theater. The students address timely, relevant social injustices and intolerance, while reflecting on the dangers of hate in society through The Holocaust. "Glimpse" will examine racial discrimination, drug abuse, sex trafficking, the trials and tribulations of foster care, and eating disorders with a strong Holocaust thread that weaves throughout the production.
