2023 Jewish Overnight Summer Camp Scholarships

Apply now for Federation’s overnight camp financial aid programs — One Happy Camper and Jewish Overnight Summer Camp Scholarships — to give your child a Jewish summer experience that’s both unforgettable and more affordable.

Recognizing that Jewish overnight camp is one of the most meaningful experiences a child can have in creating a strong and positive Jewish identity, Federation offers these two options to help offset the cost of attendance for Miami-Dade County residents. Partnering with One Happy Camper, a program of the Foundation for Jewish Camps, and Jewish overnight camps across North America, Federation provides need-blind grants of up to $1,000 to families with first-time campers who attend public school or non-Jewish private school. If you’re interested, apply early as a limited number of grants are available. Federation is also accepting applications for our 2023 Jewish Overnight Summer Camp Scholarships for children ages 8-17 who attend public school, private school and Jewish day school or yeshiva and can demonstrate financial need. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Click here to learn more and apply for either opportunity.

Media Coverage of News Conference to Shine a Light on Rising Antisemitism

This past Tuesday, on the second day of Chanukah, approximately 15 Miami-area mayors and Jewish community leaders condemned antisemitism and hate in all its forms at the Federation-organized Mayors' Press Conference Against Antisemitism.

Media Coverage

In addition to speaking out against the rising tide of anti-Jewish hatred, many offered their support of the widely accepted International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism, As the American Jewish Committee's (AJC) Brian Siegal noted, "You can't combat what you don't define." Many leaders also committed to highlighting the positive contributions of Jewish people to the US during Jewish American Heritage Month, which occurs in May. Representation from Federation included Chair of the Board Ariel Bentata, Jewish Community Relations Council Chair Moj Khaghan Danial and President and CEO Jacob Solomon. Members of the ADL, AJC and the Consul General of Israel in Miami were also present. The lineup of mayors was headlined by Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, the first Jewish woman to lead Miami-Dade County. Click here to view media coverage from the press conference.
