It's Happening In Miami

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation has established an Emergency Relief Fund to assist people affected by the extreme and deadly winter weather conditions in Texas. The historic freeze has left millions of people across the state without power, water and basic supplies.

As always, Federation will absorb all administrative costs so that 100 percent of funds collected will be used to provide emergency grants and loans, food, shelter and essential necessities as people struggle with the current crisis and its aftermath.

The book describes racism in the Unites States as an aspect of a caste system- a society-wide system of social stratification characterized by notions such as hierarchy, inclusion and exclusion, and purity. Wilkerson does so by comparing aspects of the experience of American people of color to the caste systems of India and Nazi Germany, and she explores the impact of caste on societies shaped by them and their people.
